Proposed shifts: 3–5 pm, 4 x afternoons per week
Rate of Pay: £12.00 per hour

We are seeking a Child Support Worker/Buddy (P/T) to support our 9-year-old son, who has Autism, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, and communication delays.
The role involves providing support, encouragement, and care to enable him to explore his interests, build independence, and navigate his daily routines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collecting him from school.
- Facilitating and engaging in enriching experiences such as outdoor play, creative projects, and trips to favourite places.
- Assisting with self-care routines while promoting his independence.
- Offering emotional support, patience, and understanding to reduce anxiety and help grow his confidence.
About our Son:
He is a happy, energetic, and clever boy with a wide range of interests. He enjoys:
- Playing music (he loves the piano!).
- Swimming and bouncing on the trampoline.
- Painting and other creative activities.
- Exploring new places, such as charity shops to browse DVDs.
- Taking bus and train journeys.
- Watching his favourite cartoons (they change often) the current favourites include Digby Dragon, Curious George, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Peppa Pig.
Life can feel overwhelming for him, and his limited speech and understanding of language can sometimes lead to frustration. A calm, patient approach is essential. he also has high energy levels and limited danger awareness, so constant vigilance is necessary to ensure his safety.

We are looking for someone who is kind, patient, and enthusiastic, with a passion for creating meaningful connections. You will play an active role in our son’s world by:
- Supporting his interests through structured play, creative expression, and community outings.
- Building a trusting friendship while ensuring his safety at all times.
- Encouraging his independence and confidence through fun, engaging interactions.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience in caring roles (experience with ASD and complex needs is desirable).
- A full, clean driver’s licence, use of your own car, and business insurance (mileage allowance provided for work-related travel).
This position is subject to a six-month probationary period. Successful applicants will provide two references (one from your most recent employer) and undergo a new PVG Disclosure (cost covered by the employer).
