Job description
Female Community Companion support worker ( must be a driver with own transport ) to support a Lady who lives in her own home
10hrs hours per week
Salary
£13.15 per hour inclusive of a fuel allowance for work purposes, local areas. This includes shopping for the employer, picking up prescriptions, going out locally , wages are paid 4 weekly in arrears directly to your bank account via the employers payroll service.
Annual Leave
5.6 weeks paid Annual leave pro rate for contracted staff
Days of work / times required
The 10hrs will be split over 3 days, currently Tues 3.5 hrs, Thurs 3.5hrs and Sat 3hrs
Employer will to be flexible with times, can further discuss at Interview.
Job Purpose
To work closely and flexibly with a Lady who has anxiety issues. The role is to ensure she is appropriately supported to participate in a full range of opportunities in her life and to continue to further develop and potentially learn new skills, or hobbies and interests.
Employer
You will be employed by the personal employer, who will be assisted to administer payroll and undertake the necessary employment support responsibilities by a relevant support organisation.
Probationary period
There is a 6 month probationary period attached to the post, of which the employer reserves the right to extend for a maximum of a further 6 months if required.
Successful applicant will have to undergo a new or update of the PVG disclosure scheme and supply 2 up to date reference contacts prior to appointment
Key Duties and Responsibilities
You will be responsible for supporting the lady to engage in all aspects of community life and activities as directed by her.
You may be assisting with a small amount of personal care tasks, if she was unwell and needed support.
Being flexible is a key component to this job and you will be guided by the employer herself about the particular activities she wants to participate in at particular times and you are expected to support her choices.
Helping her learn new things or take part in her Community to help with her with her mental health and wellbeing.
Assisting her with home cooking, keep her bungalow nice and today
Help her with her weekly shopping.
You will be required to a Full clean driver licence and have your own car. The employer will provide fuel costs for outings.
you should be willing and able to do this with confidence and support her travelling to various locations including Glasgow.
You may at times be required to provide companionship in her own home.
Admin duties to assist her with mail and appointments
Part of your employment is to ensure that your mobile phone is not used during your working hrs as this can distract you from your paid employment. Mobiles should be on for emergencies only.

The employer has a wide range of interests which are in a table at the end of this person spec. She is looking to recruit someone with some similar interests.
She is looking for someone with a good sense of humour, down to earth, likes a good blether and a bit of banter but is also a good listener.
The person should be good at connecting into community activities and making contacts/networks

There is a 6 month probationary period attached to the post.
The post also accrues 5.6 wks paid annual leave per annum inclusive of Public Holidays.
The employer may state when some of this annual leave has to be taken, the holiday year runs from the 1st April to 31st March, all annual leave must be used within this frame time.
The post is subject to a New or update of the PVG disclosure scheme – cost paid by the employer and 2 up to date reference contacts , one should be your most recent employer
