Young Adult Part Time Support Worker/Driver

Rate of pay: £12 per hour plus 5.6 weeks paid annual leave
Working hours – 4 hours per week.

If you think you have the above attributes, this job, which is based in Ayr, could be perfect opportunity for you. We require an experienced support worker to support a young man, this is to enable him to live his best life at home and in the community. The young man is 14 and requires someone with a kind nature to help him navigate life as he on the spectrum.
Initially the role will be working in the young persons home, getting to know him and his family. Gradually supporting him in the community as a trusting relationship builds.
Responsibilities and Duties:
You may be asked to collect young person from school, take them back to the family home, help them with homework, prepare light meals and snacks, and do activities with them.
You will support the young person with activities, planning and delivering activities that will meaningfully occupy them.
You will assist with all aspects of personal care.
You will provide support with trips (e.g. to the park, local shops, day outs as required) once a relationship is established.
You will support bed time routines, ensuring teeth are brushed, face and hands washed and with reading the young person.
You may be asked to accompany the young person to appointments, outings and activities when asked by the main care giver.
Post subject to successful reference and PVG checks.
Two up to date Reference contacts are required one of which must be from a present or previous employer. In addition, a new PVG enhanced disclosure will be required prior to appointment (disclosure cost to be met by the employer).
Probationary Period attached, 6 months to this post. During this period, either party can end the employment by giving the other one weeks’ notice.
