Job Advert- Personal Assistant / Support Worker (driver with own car)

Location – Ayr

Pay Rate £12.00 per hour plus 5.6 weeks AL Pro Rata

Hours: – 7 hours per week

Job description

This position is to support a young man in his 30s who requires support both within the home and to access the community. Looking for an outgoing and optimistic person who would be able to provide support to attend events, access the local community. Also providing support within the home. He is looking for someone easy going with a good personality and sense of humour. The applicant must be respectful of the family home and needs at all times and someone who can adapt support based on daily needs.

The young man is looking for support predominantly with accessing the community to improve opportunities to socialise, the young man is a huge metal music fan. He has also recently started getting tattoos. Going shopping and making choices in food that requires to be prepared. The ideal candidate would be male, around his own age, who has a caring nature, is reliable and is looking for a rewarding job where they will have the opportunity to make a positive difference to this young man’s life.

Duties will include things like –

  • Helping the man to access social events/things of interest in the local community
  • Shopping and meal prep
  • Attending appointments
  • Encourage new outside activities and interests or returning to those “lost” that he previously did such as going to the gym or cycling in a safe environment

Post subject to successful reference and PVG checks. Having a passport is also required.

Two up to date Reference contacts are required one of which must be from a present or previous employer. In addition, a new PVG enhanced disclosure will be required prior to appointment (disclosure cost to be met by the employer).

Probationary Period attached is 6 months to this post. During this period, either party can end the employment by giving the other one weeks’ notice.
